AP Program

Advanced Placement Program (AP)​

• University-level courses that provide students the opportunity to earn college credit and/or advanced placement in college​

• Currently QSI offers 10 AP classes and is planning to offer at least 12 next year​

• More than 600 institutions in 66 countries outside of the United States that recognize AP exam scores​

• AP scores are given to exams with scores of 1 to 5.  Scores of 3, 4, and 5 are qualified with 5 meaning “extremely well qualified” and 3 meaning qualified.

QSI schools have the ability to offer AP courses in all of its schools either face to face or with QSI Virtual School (QVS).  For the first time, QVS is approved to offer the two AP Capstone core courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. This will allow students across QSI to earn an AP Capstone Diploma which will stand out to universities around the world and enhance our students’ applications to university. 

The AP Capstone Diploma Program is developed by the College Board and prepares students for the university through development of content knowledge combined with the development of communication, and collaborative and research skills.  The two interdisciplinary courses at the core of the capstone program are AP Seminar and AP Research which are designed to complement and enhance the discipline-specific study in other AP courses.  To earn an AP Capstone diploma, students must take the following: four AP courses (earning a score of 3 or higher), AP Seminar and AP Research.  This graphic below comes from AP Central: AP Capstone Diploma Program website and illustrates how the program works. 

To graduate with the QSI Academic Diploma with Honors, students are required to successfully complete two AP courses, along with all the academic diploma requirements.
